The Company was founded by Philo Pieterse in 1980 and since then has actively been involved in the development, production and servicing of local and international commercials, feature films and television series which have resulted in Philo Films becoming one of the major role payers in the South African film industry. The Company has received many media accolades both in the advertising feature film market.

Philo Pieterse works on the premise, “if you can’t do it yourself, you cannot expect others to do it” and therefore adopts a hands on approach to the business and as a result has become an icon in the South African film industry. As the founder and owner of Philo Films and bringing to the table, a wealth of experience, he personally been involved in the production of all genres of feature films as well as television programming.
